Look at the range in $ adoptions!

If you want to see the incredible range in adoption costs, it's just amazing to see for instance an AA baby at $7,000 through one agency/networking business and then one for $15,000. It's very sad that there isn't a cap on adoption costs. There's just TOO MANY children that need homes and couples that cannot afford these prices! We had to beg and borrow money from our family to adopt our baby, we have no regrets, but now we are broke. It shouldn't be this way. How can we ever change this?!!!!

The waiting children needing homes are adoptable for minimal or no expense through state adoptions.

For adoptions of babies, their are far more waiting parents then waiting children and many fees are needed to pay birthmother health, counseling, and legal expenses. And since it is more the parents waiting for children then children waiting, their is an elevated cost.

I have no problem with people adopting babies, however, these children are not sitting waiting for families, there are plenty of families to go around.

The young international children waiting in orphanages require large payments to the countries for which they are adopted from. These expenses are affecting these children, but that's the other countries choice to make.

I know I'll probably get slammed for this, but it really irritates me when people act like healthy American infants are waiting children. They're not. There are a line of parents waiting to take them.

it's supply and demand

Then fact is more people chose to parent. I know several teen moms who keep their babies. Some are the best moms and some are the worst just like moms in their 30's. We are adopting overseas where the cost for everything is $25. We are not rich dh is in the navy and I am looking for a job. It is sad that adoption costs so much but if it that important you just figure out away. The reasons we are going overseas is because we think we can have bchildren and there is no way I want to compete with people who can not have children. I also can't wait to have another culture in our house. I am an anglo-mutt and just can't wait. I also want to travel overseas. Even through I think the costs are too high in some ways I am happy they are that high. I have heard several time, "Lucky baby if I could do it I would." My child is not charity case and the fact is I pray for her bmom thanking her for the gift I will be getting.
