nervous! :)
Really just letting my thoughts out right now. Our profile was sent out for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We got word last night (my birthday!) that she had narrowed down the group of prospective adoptive parents from about 16 to 2- with us being one of the two. She wants to have a call with each of the families, we're supossed to talk this week. I'm really nervous, I want us to be ourselves but I'm scared of saying the wrong thing. Or DH saying the wrong thing- he sometimes doesn't have a filter between his brain and his mouth
 . He's been great, staying grounded while I freak out- I'm still really nervous though. Man, how many times can I say nervous in a few sentances!

Good luck and try and relax. I would write down questions that you might want to ask so you don't forget them and you will have something to show your child later on in life about your first meeting with their bio parents.

Oh my gosh- that was awesome! We had a great call and the father was on the phone too (he got blindsided by it, but it was great he was on it). The conversation just flowed and we have a lot in common. That was, by far, the least scary thing we've done in this entire process. We like them so much we hung up the phone thinking if we knew them socially we'd be friends. I have no idea what she's going to decide- apparently she likes both families a lot and she wants the father to talk to the other family because he hasn't had a chance to. Our case worker thought she might have a decision by the end of next week. Regardless, we got to meet some new people and have a great conversation. Either way, I'm just happy we had the experience we did and I wish her the best in whatever she decides.
