Anyone Sign With 2 Agencies At Once?

Hello!

We are considering signing with two agencies at once. Our current agency is okay with it. Our concern, of course, is that we will have to shell out a lot of up-front costs to another agency. We are pleased with our current agency, it's just that we'd like some more exposure. Do any of you have experience with this and/or could you PM me the name of agencies with no or very low signing/registration fees? THANKS!

Ann Marie

We did not use any agency but I have seen several posters on here who have. I don't think it is unethical but I would want to make sure that I am not crossing any bounderies with my current agency. I have that many agencies have you sign contracts with them I would also re read thru that to make sure you are allowed. Good luck.

We are only using one agency, but just a few thoughts: Will either of the two (or more) agencies you sign up with be completely committed to showing your profile and finding you a baby? They may not feel that compelled, considering that at any moment you might match through one agency, leading to the other losing time, effort and money in their own search. On the other hand, they may rev up their efforts to find you a baby first - competition tends to do that!

after waiting with one agency for a while (no fees until after adoption), I also signed up with another. (my agency encouraged this for domestic adoptions). Of course once I told agency #1, I did this, we were matched and then the next day, agency #2 called us with two matches as well (which we "passed" on).

I wouldn't say I would actually "recommend" either agency though for various reasons. But I would try to find agencies that have low or no pre-match fees.

GOOD LUCK!
