Unhappy Need help finding adoption agency in Memphis...

Hi,
My husband and I have started looking into adoption (never went through infertility treatments b/c insurance doesn't cover). We live in Memphis and have checked out a couple of adoption places, but can't find any real information. I spoke with someone @ Bethany, but they require a letter from a pastor (we are christians, and I'm a member of a church, but we don't normally attend). Is there any agency in or near Memphis that doesn't have these stipulations? I mean, we're a Christian couple, have no history of divorce in our families, and we both have had good upbringings. Even though we're not perfect, I still feel we're capable of raising a child in a christian home (we would definitely take our child to church on a regular basis as we feel that is very important). I have been so depressed lately... It seems like everywhere I go, women are pregnant or have just had a baby... my sister-in-law, one of my good friends, my cousin, my next door neighbor... I went to church with my brother and their Sunday school teacher preached on parenting. I went to a pampered chef party last night hoping to meet some gals in our new neighborhood... come to find out, they all have children and had things in common they could talk about. I just sat there. What's the "mom club"? - Moms that don't work or only work part-time and go walking every morning and baby-sit each other's kids? I didn't even know there were still so many moms that didn't work. Sorry I am spilling my guts, it's just been on my mind 24-7, especially with the holidays rolling around. Thanks for listening - or reading (whoever's out there).

Hi, I don't know of many agencies in Memphis. (I live just 10 miles outside of Memphis) However, have you thought about trying an agency in another state?

Best of luck to you.
