I have contacted several agencies in Colorado and they have all informed me that their domestic adoptions programs are temporarily closed. For this reason, we have been planning on adopting from Guatemala, but just recently decided to hold off due to some issues in that country.

Is there anyone that would be willing to PM me with any suggestions of a good agency to work with for domestic adoptions? We would like to adopt an infant under 2 years. I have been searching online but the amount of agencies and information is almost overwhelming. We live in Colorado, but I do not think that the agency needs to be located here.

Are you only allowed to use agencies? We live in CA but adopted through AZ and used a facilitator.

I guess I am not sure. When we were adopting internationally, we were going to go through an agency. I have just started researching domestic and am not really sure. Do you know of a good website with information on this?

Apparently CO requires the use of an agency from what I have been reading.

I also live in CO and my husband and I are looking into adoption. We are thinking of using the Commonwealth Adoptions International agency. EDITED TO REMOVE AGENCY DISCUSSION. We are interested in either a Domestic or an adoption from Guatemala.

Did they say why the domestic programs are temporarily closed?
