Meeting Expectant Mother
Yikes! If things go well we're meeting with the expectent mother today via teleconference. Anyone with any idea what I should expect? DH and I aren't sure what to ask her, I think this is more for her to ask us. We're worried about everything! Anyways advice is appreciated...if it goes right, I have 5 hours until then......

First, good luck.
Second, let your agency and attorney ask any hard questions later - i.e. proof of pregnancy, status of biological father, etc. Instead, ask her about herself, be prepared to talk about yourselves too. I always had a little 'icebreaker' I'd pull out if she didn't know how to start - Like "This is really strange and I am sooo nervous. Let me tell you a bit about us. DH and I have been married X years, we're a very active couple, love to travel, are movie junkies and love our dogs and cats. DH works as X and I'm a Y." Usually something in there is a conversation starter - like the movies, or the travel, or our animals, etc. In Ryan's bmom's case it was the pets, b/c she's a real animal lover too, and it helps 'break the ice'. Best of luck. Regina

thank you for the advice, she was wonderful and the conversation went really well -- and we are matched, I feel dazed and giddy and scared all at the same time. I think Christmas came early for our family.
