Support for New Families?

Hello All -

We are hoping to add to our family via adoption of a young lady whose first adoptive family has been advised to begin dissolution proceedings. We have been in contact with A's first adoptive family and my heart goes out to their pain (obviously their story is long and heartbreaking...and private).

I know this is a group for supporting families going through the dissolution process themselves but we are looking for resources and/or support groups of the "next" adoptive family. We have many questions concerning legal and technical issues, plus questions on how to fully support A. We did find a Yahoo! support group but it looks like the group itself has disbanded.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I would think that the agency who is handling the re-adoption, would have resources available for you. If this is strictly a private re-adopt, then there should be resources your attorney could point you to?

I will be glad to send a pm for one agency I'm aware of. I have no idea how 'good' the resources might be; because we've not used them. Our dissolutions were due to the dangerous conditions that the children presented.

I wish you success in your re-adopt. I've seen re-adopts that are successful. I hope yours is too.

Sincerely,

Linny
