Interesting insight gained - 18 years too late!

Not to bore or belabor my situation, but anyone that has read my threads, has probably gathered, that I:

A. was young when my son was born
B. was not interested in having him adopted by my dad's cousin and his wife, but it didn't matter, since that was my parents' wishes.
C. am still "friends" with my son's bio-dad - after all we did date for years before he was born, a few years after he was born, and share a child.

anyhow - bio-dad and I were talking about this one day (we seem to talk more lately as he has just moved back to town and our son is 18) and he told me he had found out his mom had an abortion when he was 6. He was raised by a single mom.

The mother/female flag in me started flying and it was like a neon banner flashing - that was why she was so insistent I have an abortion - that was why she was so unsupportive - that was why she manipulated him to be unsupportive ( I should mention she would call me DAILY after my son was in my dad's cousin's home to make sure I wouldn't go get him back, would not let me talk to her son if she sensed weakness, and thensent him off to Colorado shortly after the birth to keep him out of the picture).

I feel like her thoughts were - " I had an abortion because I did not feel like I could raise another child, I'll be daggoned if I am going to help you and my son raise a child."

Does this make sense? It brings up a whole new level of anger towards this woman.

Funny thing - my ex (the bio-dad) is the father of a 13 year old girl with another woman. She did not tell him of her pregnancy or his paternity until after the birth. He is not listed on the Birth certificate. When she went after him for Child Support, he did not fight it - at that point, his mother thought it would be cool to be a grandma and doted on this little girl. This was the result of a one-night stand. He and I dated for years, she had no interest in trying to help us. Does anyone have a Mack truck - I would like to run her over (I am just kidding Sort of).

That might explain some. Maybe she felt guilty doing what she did back then and your pregnancy brought up the unanswered "what if's" with her?
