Tuesday Thread: Your favorite novel?

I am a total bookworm and it's hard for me to pin point my favorite novel but with some thought I can. So, what's your favorite novel?

Mine is The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

Mine is Push Not the River by James Conroyd Martin...It's the story of a young girl, Anna, and her life during the turmoil in Poland during the late 1700's...It is a novel written based upon the actual diary of this young girl...what an amazing story.

My second (and obviously more traditional choice) is Wuthering Heights.

I'm not a bmom, but am a bookworm, so hope you don't mind if I post here. My all-time fave is The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. I've read it multiple times and still am not tired of it.

My fave more-recent novel is Specimen Days by Micheal Cunningham -- incredibly well-written!

I read Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver and loved it. Maybe I'll have to get The Poisonwood Bible the next time I'm book shopping.

My neighborhood girls' book club has been reading The Poisonwood Bible. I wasn't much interested, but I'll take this as more recommendation.

OK, I am a HUGE Barbara Kingsolver fan and have read all of her books (except the newest one on organic farming..not a novel!).

My three favorite novels (ones that have deeply affected me for some reason) are: The Unbearable Lighness of Being by Milan Kundera, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and Great Expectations by Dickens (Wuthering Heights is up there too!).

I have been reading up a storm lately and I am soooo happy about it!

I read everything! One of my favorites, one that I've purchased repeatedly and keep on giving it away is Broken for You by Stephanie Kallos. It's a truely beautiful book!

You all may hate me but: Stephen King

Right now my favorite is The Mists of Avalon. I think I am reading it for the 4th time.

I'm so glad I'm not alone in my love for Barbara Kingsolver - I haven't read a non-fiction book of hers I didn't like. The Prodigal Summer is another favorite and I'm not waiting very patiently for a new novel of hers.

Another favorite of mine - which I could list 100's of books - is The Red Tent.

Another great book I just finished reading, was Eat, Pray Love. Now it's not non-fiction but it reads like a novel.

"Summer Sisters" by Judy Blume and "Buddy Holly is Alive and Well on Ganymede" by Bradley Denton. The former is moving and the latter is hi-larious and kooky.
