To my dear son
My dear son,
Sitting here this dreary day i remembered your short life how you smiled at me voice and cried when it stopped. Singing a lullaby to you was the highlight of my night. Listening quietly watching for signs of life I remember when they came to me and told my with voices sad "I'm sorry but he didn't make it He'll never know his dad." Collapsing to the floor in a heap of tears they rushed to me and told me that it would get better but instead it's just gotten worse By now you'd be almost 3 and still asking for this lullaby well my dear son even though your gone i'll send the lullaby there Toora-loora-looral Over in Killarney, many years ago, My mothersang a song to me in tones so sweet and low. Just a simple ditty in her good old Irish way, And I'd give the world if she could sing, That song to me this day. Toora loora looral, Toora loorali Toora loora looral, Hush, now don't you cry Torra loora looral, Toora loorali, Toora loora looral, It's an Irish lullaby. Oft in dream I wander to the cot again; I feel her arms a huggin me as when she held me then, And I hear her voice a hummin' to me as in days of yore, When she used to rock me fast asleep Outside the cabin door. Toora loora looral, Toora loorali Toora loora looral, Hush, now don't you cry Torra loora looral, Toora loorali, Toora loora looral, It's an Irish lullaby. |

Your poem touched me... I pray that love will rule and reign in your life. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry you've suffered the worst loss possible! It's good that you are reaching out, trying to heal. If your feelings of grief are still so overwhelming, it might be good for your to speak with a professional who can help you. A grief counselor might help you, beacuse your pain seems so stong that I'm worried it may be interfering with the other aspects of your life. I don't mean to pry, I just think there are people out there who could help you. I wish you well and may your grief lessen over time to be something you can bear.
Take care of yourself, Nina |

Little Angels
When god calls little children,
to dwell with him above, We mortals sometimes question, the wisdom of his love, For no heartache compares with the death of one small child, Who does so much to make our world, seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps god tires of calling, the aged to his fold, So he picks a tiny rosebud, Before it can grow old. God knows how much we need, and so he takes but a few, To make the land of heaven, more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult, Still, somehow we must try, the saddest word mankind knows, will always be "goodbye", so when a little child departs, we who are left behind, must realize God loves children- Angels are hard to find. I too know the heartache of losing my boy. He was eleven when he passed away. It is the worst possible loss that a parent can endure and unless you have been there, you can never truly understand what it is like to feel that kind of grief. It has been just over 3 years since I lost my son. Grief counselling does help, but it never completely heals your heart.
