I am very new to scrapbooking, (about 2 weeks). I know no one that scraps to help me. I have a 28 month old adopted son. In his book I have the title page and birthdate page. Now for my question. I do have the original birth cert. that lists his birthparents and I want that to be my next page, do I use it or make a copy of it? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I just started a scrapbook for my son who I released for adoption last year. My advice would be to make copies of all original documents, that way you will still have the original if you ever need it. Also it is a good idea because if you use any paper in your scrapbook that isn't acid and lignin free, eventually your book will breakdown. Any office supply store can color copy any document you want to scrap. You can have them shrink or enlarge too and it is very cheap to have done.

Even if you make a color copy at a local place, you have to make sure the copy paper doesn't have acid in it. To be safe, I would make a copy of it for your scrapbook, and then have it laminated. Kinkos can do this for you, super cheap. I usually have them "pouch" laminate my items, it costs a little more, but it is nice and heavy then. Then I just use my scrapbook adhesive to put on the page. I love my creative memories tape runner. Good luck and have fun! -Kirsten
