Digital Scapbooking vs. Snapfish

I am looking to put together a memory book of our adoption trip to China. I was considering using Snapfish to put it together, but after browsing here I'm wondering if using some digital scrapbooking software would be a good idea.

Are they completely different ideas or could I do a digital scrapbook? Would one be cheaper or easier than the other? I used to do desktop publishing with PageMaker and PhotoShop so I'm not intimdated by technology, I just don't have access to the software anymore.

I recommend the Scrapbook Max software. It is pretty inexpenisve ( in the $30 range if I remember correctly) and it is sooo easy to use (but you can still do some more advanced playing too).

There is a free trial download on their site too. Scrapbook MAX!® - Fun and Easy To Use Digital Scrapbooking Software for Windows

I love scrapbookflair.com. It is free and you can make all different size pages. I use it to spice up my 4X6 pictures. I am using it right now to make a scrapbook for our next adoption.

Would that be similar to what I can do on Snapfish? How do you print things out? Is it expensive? Sorry for so many newbie questions.

Oh no! I downloaded the Scrapbook Flair. I'm afraid I'm hooked!

I used Scrapbook Flair to do our profile and loved it. I'm using it now to do a baby book for our son. I highly recommend it.

FWIW: Snapfish doesn't let you do anything in the realm of customization. Digital scrapbooking software is much, much better. I use a version of Memory Mixer, which I believe is more robust than Scrapbook Flair, but MM does cost $$.

Child #1: Is that your mother?
Child #2: Yes.
Child #1: Why is she white and you are black?
Child #2: Because I am adopted, and black people have more melanin than white people do.
Child #1: Oh, let's go on the high bars.
