Taking the first step

Hello all, I hope you guys can help....I'm wanting to start our childs lifebook even though they are not hear yet....I know the types of things I want to put in it...but was wondering the type of book to buy? I like simplicity and want something I can do by hand, not digital. I like the idea of the 3 ring binder....are you just buying an empty folder and then buying special pages to fit the folder and start decorating that way? is the paper of a particular type? do you use sheet protectors? I've seen the albums at the store that have spaces for pictures and text, are pages easy to add to these and do you have to buy the sme type of paper??? I'm a complete dunce in how to start.

Please help steer me in the right direction. Thankyou

Smile My LIfebook

Hi!

Our son's lifebook is in 3 ring binder. We used colorful cardstock paper, scrapbook stickers, and also used the sheet protector. I found it a lot easier as I am not a scrapbooker. I found it a lot easier to type what I wanted to say more clearly and also be able to came back and update when I wanted.

I think it is a nice idea to let your child know what your journey was prior to having them. Mine includes info about seeing his picture for the first time (he was in foster care after he was born), meeting his birthmom, etc.. Just listed what you find important and make the language age appropriate.

Have fun and good luck!
