Question re: rub ons

Okay, I have never used rub-ons and i bought some over the internet thinking they were just plain stickers. It comes with a popsicle stick and i don't know how to use them. I thought you just put them down on the surface and rub them with the stick but it didn't work. What am i doing wrong?

Have you peeled the protective backing off so that it can transfer on to the paper when you rub it with the popcicle stick?

My neighbor just showed me rub on lettering - beats those darn tiny letter stickers, which are SO hard to get even. Hers come in little booklets with TONS of letters. I'm planning to get some soon and start using them!

I've noticed some rub ons work better than others. I've had a couple kinds that didn't come off easily. But definitely check the backing - I did that the first time!!!

LOL, thank you. Actually, i looked but didn't see where it peels off but since i know now that it does, i'll try again. Thank you Jenna and Stork, especially for not making me feel like an idiot. I knew it had to be something simple but since i've never used them before, just couldn't figure it out. I got some really cute baby boy ones and have been wanting to use them. Stork, i've never seen the letters, gotta check those out for sure.
