Lifebook Tip of the Day for May 1, 2003
TIP: Start with Day One, your child's birth, not a later date of relinquishment, abandonment or placement in the adoptive family's home. Include, if you have it, a copy of the birth certificate. Some are anxious to begin with the point in time when the child joins the adoptive family. That's understandable, given that you will have had the opportunity to collect more photos and memories of that time. However, it is important to start with a child's birth because that is the beginning of his/her life!
