Emberbit, I'm just curious. Have you considered placing your child through your County Department of Social Services? I'm just wondering what the advantages are in using a private agency over a public one...

I wouldn't use the county social services. Here, they won't let you meet or pick the parents...or at least, the SW I talked to said they won't. In addition, she talked to me like I must lack intelliigence because I am planning to place.

The private adoption agencies on the other hand, in general, the one's I've contacted to ask questions have all been very nice...but not sugary sweet. They've been helpful in a lot of different ways and were all falling over themselves to be like..."How can we help?" when the SW at social services just seemed annoyed.
