I am Looking for my half sister. She was born in Middle Town, Ct. Her birth name was Helena Solveg McCaffrey, March 3,1965. My mother couldnt remember if her fathers name was on the birth certificate, but if so his name was Jose DeLeon,(of Spanis Desent).
Mothers name is Elizabeth Joan McCaffrey, she was approx. 15 when Helena was born.

I was in a home for unwed mothers from 1/69 - 4/69. I gave up my daughter who was born on April 10, 1969 in Bridgeport Hospital. I beleive the name of the home was Woodfield in Strattford, Ct. Any ideas on how to start this search? I would appreciate any info or help.

I was adopted through woodfield family services. My birthdate is 9/15/61 and according to my birth certificate I was born at 9:32 pm, weighing 6lbs. 3 oz. My parents celebrated my anniversary date of jan. 19, but I don't know if that's the day I came to them or if that's the date of my adoption to them. I am female. Looking for any relatives, I am 24 now, have two kids of my own. I need some soft of grounding in my life. I was born on Nov 13th 1979 but at such a time one might have thought it could of been the 12th or 14th also. It was through a Catholic Service and I hispanic, I think. I would love to be able to check the right ethnic box on forms one day.

The Social Worker from FSW has Woodfield's records. I sent info that was delivered to her this Monday and I spoke with her today. She has found my daughter.
I'm so amazed that this has happened and I hope she will deceide to contact me.
Please let me know if anyone needs Woodfield's info.

Can you help me find my birth father? I do not know if he even knows about me. I have posted on two other boards here as well. I was born at Stamford Hospital. I have my birth cert. but the man listed as my father is not my father. I am looking for a Mr. Exley, he is my father. I can provide you more info if you believe you might be able to help me.

HI. The birthparents usually aren't listed on the birth certificate. Have you contacted Family Services of the State of Conn?
A wonderful lady name Claudia was very helpfull. I think the law is they will help you search if the adoption was through the state or if the state has the records.
Trying calling them. Were you a private adoption and what year?

I have posted in other places on this site too. After 12 years of looking, I feel like I'm running out of time.
I made my own site, and have submitted it to be registered with Yahoo and Google..takes about 2 weeks for that to happen. Once it's registered I will post the link.

Maybe you can provide some insight as to information that my husband may be able to get. His mother died 2 months ago and after her death we discovered that he had 3 siblings he never knew about (he's 33). So we are now on a search for all of them. 2 of them were born in Hartford and adopted through Catholic Charities. She stayed at the St. Agnes home for unwed mothers. We have no idea of birthdates, only years. Do you know if any facility will provide information to my husband on his siblings that will help to narrow down our search? Birthdates would be helpful but we don't know if this will be provided to him. This is all so new and we are still in shock about this discovery because he grew up thinking he was an only child his whole life.
