Pm

overwhelmed, if you click on the persons name that you want to PM it will give you a drop down list and there is one there that says to private message this person.

Hope this helps, sorry Brandy didnt mean to step on your toes.

One thing I love is the fact that I can set the time to be correct. I hated the fact I couldnt interpret the time on the old forums. Apparently it was correct if you lived in Copenhagen?????

One problem that seems to be coming up though is that if someone uses "Quick Reply" to respond to a thread, even if I am subscribed to the entire thread I am not getting notification. I am only getting email notification if someone uses "Quick Reply" to my post or if someone uses the general reply option. I would like to see that change as I imagine that most people will use the Quick Reply option as it is quicker and when I subscribe to a thread I like to keep on top of ALL the posts.

LOL Jen..the time WAS adjustable on the other forum!!! You just had to find where it was at to fix it!

I dont like that HTML is an option...but then it is set to off so you cant use it.

Also the "legend" on the front of the different colors for new posts-- doesnt seem to be activated.

Looks like you've put a lot of great features in. I especially like the search by thread starter, and the ability to subscribe to a thread w/o getting e-mail notification. The hybrid thread view is also pretty cool.

I'm having a little bit of confusion though. This thread I got to from Brandy's signature link. When I finished reading all the posts in view, I saw the page links (1, 2, 3 >>) same as before. When I clicked on "2", the same list of posts appeared starting at the beginning, but the page numbers disappeared. Maybe a bug? Or maybe I'm not interpreting something right.

Just one more question: On the post hierarchy (that I can see in "hybrid" mode), will it nest the posts based on whether you've quoted a post? Or is there some other control to link your reply to a specific post?

Thanks!

Ok thanks Christine, but then how do you tell what a member's reputation is?

I clicked on my scale and it tells me how many points I have... When I click on yours, it just says I have to "spread some more reputation points" before adding to yours again... When I clicked on Plareb's, whose rep I hadn't contributed to yet, it just gave me the option to approve or disapprove of her post....

So how do you tell what someone's rep is (other than your own?)

And do your rep points equal how many people gave you an approval rating? What happens when you disapprove of someone's post? Do they get a point taken away?

Any way to see which posts someone has had "disapproved" by others?

Yes, the control was there. But when I disabled e-mail notification, the threads would no longer appear in my "subscribed thread" list in my "User Options" area. Yea, I could subscribe, but what's the point if they don't appear in the list

If you like someone or agree with them you can click on the scales in the top right side of their post. You then get a pop up asking if you are for or against the person <paraphrasing since I don't rememeber the wording> so the more people that agree wiht you , the bigger you little green line under the scale will get. Right now if I hover over your green line I get a pop up that says "79nic is on a distingueshed road"

Good for you!

I am in and able to answer a few questions.

Plareb, I think the thing with the page numbers was a bug. Anyone else have issue with the page number boxes being so small?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

I am a MORON! LOL

I didn't realize that was a line that would get bigger/smaller. It just looked like a green box.

Thanks ladies.
