Tuesday Thread

Do you have a "collection"? And no I don't want to hear about your lip gloss or shoe collection. Sorry guys....

For me, I collect Pen Delfin Bunnies Pendelfin and love china.
Also, you know a girl can never have enough lady bug things.

Hat pins and tea pots and tatting shuttles.

I also collect patterns by a specific cross stitch designer. Not that I will ever get them all stitched, but in my brain they are must haves, lol.

1-4-2009 Mom and I visit Kiddo despite the bad weather. He really loved the blue mittens I made him and even helped me plan my living room. Apparently Hot Wheels wallpapper is the way to go.
2-16-2009 I got a promotion, that comes with a raise. Mom and Dad are visiting and we're going to Al's for pie to celebrate.
4-27-2009 Dad surprises me with a Lady Ugly Stick (an awesome fishing rod that is pink) and a 2nd Iowa Light Artillery Battery jacket. I'm a lucky girl!
5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling.
6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome.
7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.

sigh...well, if I can't talk about my lipgloss collection...

Actually, I collect saint medals - I have quite a few and I love them. Each one has a special meaning to me...

I used to collect things like crystal vases and statues, but I have a bit of OCD, and having too much stuff feels like clutter, and it drives me bonkers...

See I knew you guys had cool collections. I'm sorry though that the discussion of lipgloss collections is not permitted on this thread.

I always wanted to collect something, but as with Lovemy2boys clutter drives me nutty. Maybe I will see something here that is small.

One of the guys I work with decided that his wife needed to start collecting something. So everytime he goes on a business trip or to a conference he tries to find her a new snow globe (like he couldn't go for something NOT tacky). Anyway, at a company party she pulled me aside and asked my advice on how to get him to STOP! Poor thing has a shelf with dozens of snow globes that she hates!

He's such a doof.

I feel your pain. Oh, how I feel your pain! I'm sure you would relate to mine today...I got my Burts Bees out of my hoodie and it was all smooshed in the cap.

I do have to ask what a tatting shuttles collection is. It probably has to do with something crafty..and I am so NOT crafty.

I collect picture frames. I also have a spoon collection that is packed up, but whenever I go places I still have that urge to pick up a spoon. I also collect snowmen stuff to decorate with during the winter... I hate clutter as well!!!!!

At one time I collected snow globes, but after having more then one get broken by a cat I had, or start leaking for no apparent reason, I tossed them all. I then decided to collect salt and pepper shakers. I lived in a bungalow that was all original and it fit, but after a few years and I got sick of dusting a couple dozen salt and pepper shakers! I now collect nothing.

The best reason NOT to collect things - once you start, people see it as an invitation to give you things THEY think you would like. More times then not you end up not really liking the gift, but having to display it anyway. Nothing worse then spending your Saturday mornings dusting the ugly crap other people gave you!

Boy, you are NOT kidding! I happened to mention one time that I liked dolphins. This followed a trip to Sanibel Island where we saw dolphins swimming by our condo twice a day...

My in laws saw this as an opportunity to buy me every crappy dolphin figurine the dollar store carried. Their heart was in the right place so I couldn't find it in me to tell them that I only liked REAL dolphins...until last Christmas, when my MIL gave me *sigh* a queen sized faux fir dolphin comforter for our bed.

I just started collecting those little souvenir spoons. I collected them on our trip across the country, and got some pretty cool ones. (One, from an aquarium, was called "Shark's Baby Spoon" and had a bite out of the bowl. Hee Hee!)

haha, a dolphin comforter I always wonder if people regret their animal collections...like this lady that's a volunteer collects frog stuff - and people give it to her ALL the time. But she seriously LOVES frogs - and not just the ones in real life haha

Since I can't bring up s-h-o-e-s....hmm.....

I collect stuff for both of my football teams (college and pro) and I have a pretty significant shotglass collection. I pick one up from everywhere I go.

Recently I've started to get Cupcake stuff...that actually started at work cause I have this really cute little cupcake sitting on my desk. (This was before I called Cupcake Cupcake). Plus I LOVE actual cupcakes. And of course, there's Cupcake, so it works

I collect teacups from England only. I probably have about 30 or more. Running out of places to put them.
