Ugh Leigh... She needs to be smacked upside the head.

They should be ashamed of themselves, quite honestly.

I have an image in my head of a petulant child, hands over her ears, shaking head, and screaming, "NO! NO! NO! NO!" over and over. She is trying as hard as she can to pretend that you don't exist - the problem is, you do! No matter what she does, you do - and always will...the sooner she figures that out, the better off you all will be.

Fear is a very powerful and dangerous thing.

Good for you Leigh (I swear, this stubborn streak of ours might just pay off for once! haha)

I just really do hate, hate, hate, that we don't really have any recourse. And yes, I realize hate is a strong word. I just get so mad that you can try your darndest to BE that figure and if they don't want to let you in they don't have too.....Of course, I hope and pray it NEVER comes down to that. For any of us.

Good for you Leigh!

So an aside, my only IRL first mom friend and I had breakfast on Saturday and we were talking because I was mad at the world, I was coming off a mania (which I didn't realize until I yelled at my mom and she said I knew this was coming after the painting on Tuesday) anyway, she told me that she draws strength from my moral outrage.

Tiny bit of background, her son is with her sister, her son doesn't know who S is, just thinks she is his aunt, what a load of crap and I get mad anytime her family comes up.

Her mom tells her on Friday that her sister mentioned that she would like S to get pregnant again because she wants another child. HUGE eye roll there. S says her mom told sister no b/c it would be too hard on S. Mom pauses, S thinks, she finally gets that it hurt me (These are people that expected her to come to the finalization party which was the same day as TPR and have a good time). No, mom doesn't want S to get pregnant again because it would be high risk. Not a word said about her feelings.

So, the reason I throw that out there is because we are dealing with some poopy head people TG and Leigh. At least they aren't our family. Not that it makes things super ok, but it always throws things back into perspective for me.

I'm really outraged for you Leigh. And I'm so sorry.

Belle- poopy head people? lol. I'll remember that pointing out that people are poopy heads helps put things in perspective for you.

If I were you Leigh, I wouldn't tell E not to bother, I'd tell her to keep calling, because at the very least they need to :
1. understand they can't ignore this away
2. at minimum follow the commitment they made to at least discuss this with a third party
3. understand that their actions have a deep impact on others and the passage of time (by ignoring calls) does not lessen the impact
4. understand they can't ignore this away.

Tell E to keep calling until they answer or return the call. Just my two cents.

Gotta keep it G rated.

And that isn't what keeps things in perspective for me, it is what is happening to my friend S that keeps things in perspective. At least my mom and dad care about my feelings first. What is happening to her because of her family is a travesty.

belle, that's a horrible story. I can't even begin to comprehend what this must do to your friends sense of self worth.

H- I told E not to call that day since it was sunny and the next day was crap with snow, sleet and rain. I told her to enjoy the rest of the day to have a good day.
Belle - that is just a horrible story.

Yuckity yuck Leigh.

H, wouldn't it be nice if they actually HAD to do numbers 1-4.....the thing that sucks is that it can really feel like they DON'T have to do any of those things. Sure, ignoring it won't make it go away as long as Leigh stays on it, but they can ignore it as long as they want, and actually don't have to do anything in return.

Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, it just really gets my goat.....

And Belle, your story sucked too.

Sometimes I just wanna Who's with me??

I'll cry with ya, TG...If for no other reason than I just feel like crying - today is a weird day...

To put it simply, people are jerks - and I think people just LIKE to have the drama and nonsense...It makes them feel important.

TG- The more I hang out here, the more that heartbreaking, infuriating truth reveals itself over and over.

Belle, your poopy head sentence made me laugh, but I didn't mean to make light of your friend's story. I can't imagine a family being so heartless and acting like she's their drive-through ovary. That is tragic.

I'm probably overly sensitive about her situation. It just tears my heart out to watch her go through this.

Poopyhead is about the nicest thing I have to say about some people lately, hehe.
