Oh Leigh, I wish that I could just fix this right up for you. I wish that she knew what she is putting you through.

Carpal tunnel.... I think I'm getting arthrities in my hands and my right shoulder. I made about 16 yards of tatted lace for my mom for her birthday. I did it in about three weeks, I thought my arm was going to fall off.

Do you guys put hot packs on your arms? It will help a bit...

That was always our first treatment when I worked at the PT/OT clinic - heat either in packs or water...

And if you are feeling it in your wrist (although belle, if yours is arthritis, it may not work quite as well as it does for CT) wrist splints REALLY help. When my CT acts up, I wear them at night and it really takes the pressure off of the tendons in my wrists...

I actually have a special heating pad just for my shoulders. One of those shaped ones. I LOVE it. It smells like lavender too, so relaxing. I have a pinched nerve somewhere in there and I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with my psyatic never, or however you spell that, from my pregnancy. That's what happens when you have a big ol' baby I suppose.

If you are sciatic nerve is pinched, do you do any stretching exercises when you can feel it? It only takes a second and REALLY helps!

Lie on your back, and pull your knee up to your chest and hold it for a ten count...You can also do it with a straight leg - like pull the entire leg as close as you can to your chest.

Another good one is to start out on your hands and knees and sit back until you're basically sitting on your heels (hands still on the floor) - almost like a Yoga pose...This will stretch your back/sciatic nerve as well...These help, of course, but don't totally take it away...Yoga and pilates are GREAT for sciatica.

Leigh, I'm ashamed to admit that I was one of "those"...the almighty adoptive parents who know EXACTLY what is right for our kids, and no one else could tell me otherwise.

We were having so many problems in our OA that I couldn't take it anymore - and the agency told me to take a break - that OA wasn't visits and phone calls - it was contact, and that could mean letters and pics as well.

And because I had the agencies stamp of approval, well then - I could do it and I have back up! So there! And of course, it wasn't MY fault - it was HERS...and I wasn't to blame for the suspended visits...the AGENCY told me to do it. And of course, it was ALL done for the good of my kid. (ugh - was I an idiot back then)

Of course, I don't come out of this story looking very good. I realized I had as much ownership in the breakdown of our relationship that D had...but by the Grace of God, I found my way here...and am able to work things out in a healthy, adult manner (well, most of the time - haha).

Anyway, the point to this ridiculously long rant is that maybe something will finally make them realize how foolish they are being. I PRAY that they have a moment of clarity for All of your sake. For you...for Supergirl...and even for them.

You know, I think you just said something important there. We sometimes miss out on cool people because of preconceived notions. I think that Supergirl's parents are missing out on a pretty cool Leigh b/c of whatever is going on in their heads.

I have been fighting just to show up at their door and go "Remember me?" because I WILL NOT GO AWAY!!! Like I told E the other day I will live up to my nickname (witch w/a B). I told E that I didn't include a note with supergirl's presents because there was still more anger in it and I just couldn't hide it. I will not let L ruin this relationship I have with my daughter. She can try but I will be here for Supergirl in the end. With no lies, no stories, just the truth.

*I have splints for my carpel tunnel, developed cp when pregnant with Supergirl during the last really bad New England winter 5 years ago!!!
