Tuesday Thread: Your Favorite Concert?

So, hubby and I went to see Tom Petty last night and while I'm not a huge fan of his, they put on a great show. So, what is your favorite concert?

I'd have to say mine is the Dixie Chicks - I saw them on their tour before the latest one....ah, what amazing performers.

Everyone can chuckle at me, but it has to be Weird Al.

I don't make it to many concerts anymore, at least a two hour drive and I work weekends....kinda cuts down on that stuff for me.

1-4-2009 Mom and I visit Kiddo despite the bad weather. He really loved the blue mittens I made him and even helped me plan my living room. Apparently Hot Wheels wallpapper is the way to go.
2-16-2009 I got a promotion, that comes with a raise. Mom and Dad are visiting and we're going to Al's for pie to celebrate.
4-27-2009 Dad surprises me with a Lady Ugly Stick (an awesome fishing rod that is pink) and a 2nd Iowa Light Artillery Battery jacket. I'm a lucky girl!
5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling.
6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome.
7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.

Ok, so the only concerts I have ever even been to have been Bon Jovi unless you count the Britney Spears I took my oldest daughter to.....

My husband and I went to see Rod Stewart last year and it was an amazing concert. During one song he had written about his family they had pictures of them all on the big screen. What a tribute to his biggest fans.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill put on a great show the last time I saw them.

I also loved Journey way back in the day.

The ones I've enjoyed the most was U2 (1998) and Garth Brooks (1995)... both were smaller concerts, less "show", more music. Haven't been to a concert in WAY too long...

As a teen my favorite concert was AC/DC and I believe Blue Oyster Cult opened for them. I lost some brain cells and hearing that night...1979.

As an adult it was BB King at "Summer Nights at the Pier" in Seattle two or three years ago.

Believe it or not, the Steve Miller Band was one of the best concerts I have ever been to...and I was 20, so many, many years ago...

Bare Naked Ladies put on a good show too, but there were too many drunk people there, and we were on the lawn at the concert venue, so it made for a pretty miserable experience...

First concert I ever went to was Bon Jovi, was in a video!!!
I would have to say: Dixie Chicks and Tina Turner. That women can dance!!! it helped that Cyndi Lauper opened for her and I didn't have to pay anything for the tickets since a friend won them and she didn't want them.
She was just lucky at winning things on the radio.

I'm still laughing over Weird Al...hahahaha. Mine would have to be either Aerosmith (1995) or Ozzy in '96. I haven't been to a good concert in a looooong time. Total bummer.

Heart was great back in the 80's. Those girls could rock. Reba was great. Aerosmith was great. Van Halen with both David and Sammy. Hank Williams Jr. last year was fantastic. I saw him in the 80's and he was drinking then and really sucked. But last year sober--WOW--what talent.

I saw R.E.M. in Chicago this summer, and that is definitely the best concert I've ever been too. I saw them once before in Charlotte in 1995, but I had a much better seat this time around.
