OT: Odd food likes....

I have this friend on here who I swear has the oddest ways of cooking her food. Her latest is peas sauteed with onions, butter, and SUGAR. Now I don't know...this might be some gourmet delicacy I should try but it sounds just ODD.

So now fess up everyone..what are things you eat that make other people go "WHAT??"

Here's mine...I love smearing tortillas with jelly, put them together and then pan fry the outsides in a bit of butter. (Paula Deen's scale of BIT of butter)

One thing we have is at Christmas time, we take the left over turkey heat it in chicken gravy, make waffles and pour it over and eat it. It's a Pennsylvania thing that we have traveled with all our lives.

Oh Michelle, I do one with jelly and mustard and meatballs.

Crick I'll try yours if you try mine??? People who marry into our family are very sceptical at first but once they try it they can't get enough. LOL

I like potato chips and mustard, dill pickles from the jar, sliced radishes on a piece of buttered bread or sliced cucumbers.

Ummm, not sure what else...that's what I came up with off the top of my head .

Speaking of food, gotta run to the store for bread for radish sandwiches too he hee.

We used to have peanut butter and cottage cheese on crackers. My husband and kids think it's gross, but it sounds fairly normal compared to your inventions!

Bobby Flay did a Throwndown show on Chicken and Waffles a while back. I can't remember what city it was in but it could well have been somewhere in PA. I had never heard of it until his show and am still not so sure about the idea.

Though I would take it over any of the other mentioned combos!

Oh there's a whole restaurant chain that serves nothing but chicken and waffles- Roscoe's.

There are here in SoCal, though they might be in other parts of the country as well.

heck yeah on the Roscoe's!!!!

Now some of y'all are YUCKY with your food though! haha

Although I will admit that one of my favorite foods in the world often leaves people a bit grossed out: Hamloaf. Yep, you're picturing it right. Just like meatloaf but you use ground up ham. I don't know, it was my grandma's thing in Indiana......SO delicious though!

The funny thing? I HATE regular ham. Like a honey baked ham or a ham sandwhich? Won't touch the stuff!

Ya, Paige...keep telling yourself that and one day you might actually get to a state or normalacy! Olives are gross anywhere anytime...you need to understand this.

I think Zx wins this one though! Can I just say "Eww?" LOL!

TGM - hamloaf..eh..as long as it's not spam?

I use sweet or dill pickles on grilled cheese sandwiches. I like tomato sandwiches.

Probably my weirdest thing though is mayo on saltine crackers, has to be mayo.

1-4-2009 Mom and I visit Kiddo despite the bad weather. He really loved the blue mittens I made him and even helped me plan my living room. Apparently Hot Wheels wallpapper is the way to go.
2-16-2009 I got a promotion, that comes with a raise. Mom and Dad are visiting and we're going to Al's for pie to celebrate.
4-27-2009 Dad surprises me with a Lady Ugly Stick (an awesome fishing rod that is pink) and a 2nd Iowa Light Artillery Battery jacket. I'm a lucky girl!
5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling.
6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome.
7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.
