advise from moms please

This is a question asking about parenting advise. My child left shoes at the park and they were gone when we went back to get them. They are distinctive shoes. Today a child, who lives in the same neighbourhood, was wearing them on the school bus. I asked the child where the shoes came from. Child said they were found in the park down the road - where they were lost. Do I go ask the mother to return them to me?

I don't see anything wrong with going to the child's mom and saying " My child left a pair of shoes at the park the other day, today I noticed that your child had the same pair on, by chance did you find them at the park?" Hopefully she will be honest and give them back.

Good luck!

Hi... I guess I would wonder if the shoes are worth asking for back... I think a little differently than most. Although, our family is not made from money, and buying a new pair of shoes is a pain. I would simply assume he needed the pair more than my kiddo. Also, I wouldnt want anything traveling back to my home that was on the shoes. (Not trying to be snobby, but there is soo much easily shared, that I would not take the risk.)
Good luck!
