Happy Mother's Day...

Just wanted to wish everyone here a Happy Mother's Day and Happy BMom Day for those who honor that day.

I wish my kids' other mom had even a fraction of the strength, courage, honor, love and integrity that you all have. I wish I could share the wonderful things about my kids with her and show her how completely awesome they are. I'd love to share the not so wonderful moments. I want to tell her I wonder how I'm going to get through puberty. Funny...it doesn't say in my mom handbook that I have to go through puberty all over again via the kids I'd love to send her samples of the art work and creative projects they do, and their school pictures that never capture who they truly are but are hilarious to look at anyway.

Of course I can't and some part of me likes that I can't because I honor my kids first and her second. Still...she's their mom too and always will be. I thank you all for showing me that through the years and allowing me to see her in a different light. There's no comparison between you and her, and yet I've still learned to have some compassion for her through you and your stories. You've given me much and I'm grateful for the many friendships I've made here. Through those I laugh and cry and share the bonds through our children, eventhough we come from different ends.

So for that, I just want to take the day to honor you all even if I'm not the one who should honor you. I pray that your adoptive families will honor you as they should and if they don't, I hope in some small way you know that you have touched others here and your voice is important.

Crick,

Thanks so much for your thoughts! I hope you're kids drive you crazy tomorrow, like I know they will - and I also know, while they are doing so, you will have a big ole goofy grin on your face!

Enjoy your soggy cereal and golf course tours

I had a fantastic day today - and was surprised when John said, "Birth mothers day, hmmm...is that cause for celebration?"

It was certainly a day of reflection for me...and it ended with a totally awesome hair cut and some nifty new iTunes gift cards

Tomorrow, I plan on sleeping late. Real late. Like 6!

From a "Wonder Womb" to a "No Va Jay Jay Mom" (and if I knew how I'd change my little title under my name) Happy Mother's day to you Crick!

Though we've never met (I'm still ticked I missed that trip to sin city two years ago) I have come to like and admire you so much. One post I remember from you was many years ago when you were wondering if finding an action figure in dog poo could be considered art if you took a picture of it...Now, that is a MOM!

Dang I love another brilliant, sick and twisted mind! The support and knowledge I find here from all members of the triad is wonderful. Every once in a while I find myself needing a little hiatus from it all...But, what binds us here is a love for our children and others who might understand a little of our struggles.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for your kind, loving words, Crick. They brought tears to my eyes just now... You could always scan your kiddos' art work into your computer and show us! I know it's not the same, but you sure would get a lot of "oohs and ahs" from the bmom crowd here!!! Happy Mother's Day, Crick!!

First mom to the amazing Kiddo and adopted adult.

1-4-2009 Mom and I visit Kiddo despite the bad weather. He really loved the blue mittens I made him and even helped me plan my living room. Apparently Hot Wheels wallpapper is the way to go.
2-16-2009 I got a promotion, that comes with a raise. Mom and Dad are visiting and we're going to Al's for pie to celebrate.
4-27-2009 Dad surprises me with a Lady Ugly Stick (an awesome fishing rod that is pink) and a 2nd Iowa Light Artillery Battery jacket. I'm a lucky girl!
5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling.
6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome.
7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.

Paige - LOL! I totally forgot about that discussion...omg! I'd like to think I've matured and grown since then, but since I took a picture not too long ago of dd in a "pre-adolescent but full on puberty hormonal rage without the actual puberty" rant where she told her brother he's evil for being a boy and she's going to make him suffer...I obviously have not grown. (bad mom..bad! LOL!)

Brandy - You pampered yourself yesterday??? WOW! You go!

Thanks for the Mday wishes y'all...hope today is bearable at least and you all find ways to honor yourselves and be honored by others. Spa anyone? We can make our reservations under our "special" names. Man, I'd love to see the look on their faces if we showed up as "No Va J J", "Wonder Womb", "Crackwhore", "BabyStealer", "Primal Mother" and so on..

I did! I spent 6 hours at a day spa where my girlfriend works - it was really nice - and not something I would normally ever do.

Oh, I would absolutely kill for a massage right about now...but I settled for a pedi yesterday - that my sis paid for! Double score!

And Crick, you can book me for Spa Day under "Breeder Crackwhore"

Brandy & TGM....you mean someone actually TOUCHED your stinky feet?? OMG! I hope you tipped well. Was there any white residue poring out of your big nasty toe at all? Hope they wore masks.

I'm jealous! LOL! Man, I love me a good spa! Okay...BCW and TMom added to our ever growing list. Now..we can't go to Sin City for this one because they are used to odd names. Yet, not too small of a place because well, we don't want our mani's done with a sander made from ole truck parts that were sitting out in a yard left to rust. Kwim?

Ha! I did tip well

That's one job that you really have to be passionate about to do. I can't imagine being a child and thinking, "hmmm, when I grow up I want to do pedi's!"

John got me an orchid...it is beautiful. Wow.
