Hello to all, I have been reading a lot on the forums and really appreciate all the information and people willing to share there experiences.

I started the process of trying to locate my birth relatives back in Sept/2011. My CI sent an outreach letter to who she believes is my bmother on Jan. 3rd.

I really thought we would have heard something by now, but as I read more and more of your stories it may take several attempts for her to respond. It has been a long two weeks so far. 1 more week and the CI will attempt a phone call.

I am also waiting on my OBC, check hasn't been through bank yet. I do know I have 3 aunts and 4 uncles

Patience....Patience....Patience. It's such a hard thing. I was in your shoes one year ago (look at my thread in this fourm for my story). I pray you have better results than I have had thus far.

Do you know your b mom's name or is your CI holding that info? I ask because there are some great Search Angels out there who are willing to assist you at no charge.....mine certainly helped me through the most difficult year of my life.

No names, the CI has all the info. No bfather listed, she has info on aunts and uncles as well.

Update: CI got a call from my bmom and had a nice conversation. Bmom said she wanted to start with anonymous communications. I just finished typing my first letter and have to wait on the forms from the CI before she can forward the letter. I asked the CI if bmom was reluctant or hesitant to open communications with me and CI said bmom was not. Sure is hard to write a letter and stay within the anonymous guidelines. I kept the letter short an brief but not impersonal. Time is standing still

I sit on pins and needles for everyone waiting! I know what it's like and it's absolutely no fun at all!
It sounds good mkk, she didn't run and hide and is being cautious, that's a great thing really.

Aunts and Uncles! yay! I treasure the ones I've found. I can't imagine them and the rest of my families not being in my life in some way right now, it's been 10 years for me. I am much richer for it that's for sure.

I think you might be on that part of the roller coaster ride - slowly clicking up the big hill- enjoy it, try not to close your eyes and scream too much, no fear! Hold your hands up and say weeeeeeeeeeee weee weeee weeeeeeeeeee like that annoying pig in the commercials LOL It helps, I promise. Sort of like when you are seasick and can't get off the boat, hold your hands up and say, "weeeee weeee weeeeee this is fun! I can't wait for the next wave!!" It helps, for real LOL

Bmom has not returned her consent form, its been 3 weeks. CI tried a phone call and could not make contact. Follow up letter went out a week ago. I'm starting to think this is heading South. I would at least think she would be anxious to see the letter from me and then decide if she wanted to continue. OBC should be here this month, at least I might have a name

Need some opinions. I have my doubts about my bmom responding. I need some opinions on who I should search for next.

bdad in not listed on obc
3 - baunts
4 - buncles

I do know my bmom is 65/66 so who should I choose and why. The CI will not give me ages of any of the aunts and uncles or where she is in relation to her brothers/sisters age wise. So who would you pick, youngest, oldest, 1st one older/younger than her. Any help or insight would be appreciated
