How to Adopt from the State?
Hey there!
Has anyone adopted through Ohio Children's Services? We're just starting the research on adopting from the state, but the Adopt Ohio site is painfully unuseful, and all the books we've read are geared more for private adoption. What should we do first? Get a homestudy? Contact the state? Any help anybody can give would be greatly appreciated.

I have not adopted from Ohio, yet.. never know. I am not sure about the homestudy process but I am sure that you could contact the local social services and ask about the homestudy.
As for books Parenting the hurt child adopting the hurt child both by Greg Keck and Regina Kepecky. Anything by Nancy Thomas If you are thinking AA adoption - then White Hands Black BAby by Jaiya John This is just a few. Hope it helps. Good Luck scandi
