Hello! Much to our surprise, we were just approved today to be on a waiting list for Casa de Maria in Medellin! We are hoping for 2 children under the age of 5.

We are absolutely delighted to be accepted by the Casa. We would love to hear from anyone else who also adopted from there or is also waiting on the list from there.

Our agency has advised us to expect a wait of about 2 years.

Hi Congratulations. My husband and I are in the process of putting together the paperwork for a Colombia adoption. Would you mind PM-ing me the name of the agency you are using. Also I see you submitted your I-800 in Jan 2009 and rec'd I-797a in March - is the I-797a approval of the I-800? and if so is two month turn around fast? One last question - is the casa's full name Casa de Maria? Sorry for all the questions. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Congrats again.

Thank you everyone! Natalie - to answer your question, the Casa I mentioned is Casa de Maria. I have been told that our case is very unusual, and that they only select a small handful of families. Im not sure what was so unusual about us that they choose us. Maybe its because we are looking for siblings and have never had any children. I will PM you the agencys name.
