"the casas" question

So I'm researching and I'm researching and it seems I can't go through the casas, even if I wanted to. It seems to me that they either onlly have children 3-15 years old (we'd like 0-24 months) and/or they don't allow more than 1 child at home. Is this so? If your casa, allows more than 1 child at home (we have 2) AND adopts 0-3, please let me know your agency.

The casas do have younger children...not sure where you are getting the 3yo number. Maybe 3 months old? The number of children at home may be more of an issue for you. They can also have different age requirements than ICBF. When we were researching we found them to be more restrictive on parents ages than ICBF.

Age requirements shouldn't be an issue for us. I am 30 and my DH is 34. So as long as we move before his 35th bday I think we're ok in that requirement. We're leaning towards ICBF anyway.

You are correct, most of the casas prefer to place children with families who have either no children at home or only one other child at home. My husband and I are adopting an infant through the casa CRAN, but we have no other children at home. After we adopt #1, we will apply to adopt # 2, but that will be our max that we can adopt through the casa. If we want any more Colombian children, we will have to go through ICBF.

I guess in a way that's good for us because I HATE making decisions and I like having the decision made for me How's that for positive thinking LOL
