Colombian citizen wanting to adopt
I have dual US and Colombian citizenship. I am a single woman, who wants to adopt a baby from Colombia. Are there preferences given to Colombian citizens wanting to adopt? Everything I have read seems to say that I can only adopt a child over the age of 7.
Any information would be helpful!

There are advantages for Colombian citizens, but these advantages do not appear to include liberalization of the rules applicable to single people.
However, at least one experienced agency states that rules may occasionally be waived for a person (of U.S. or Colombian nationality) who is willing to adopt a child with special needs or a sibling group. Sharon
