Farrah,

I'm sure the ladies on here will tell you about their experiences with the agencies handling Colombian adoptions. Although I am Colombian I decided to go with China due to the shorter wait time and more predictable process. Plus, there's so many little girls abandoned in China and I've dreamt of adopting a daughter (I have 2 bio sons).

As far as Brazil goes, my husband's cousin started the process in April 2002 and STILL no referral. She's been extremely frustrated by the long wait. Every time she is told that she's at the top of the wait list, something happens like the courts close for religious holidays or couples from countries that have ratified the Hague Treaty are bumped up ahead of her. Because of her experiences, I wouldn't recommend Brazil.

Good luck!
