I see a trend that families waiting for the referal of one child seem to receive ICBF approval in 2 or 3 months, but those requesting siblings take longer? Does anyone know if the BCIF approval process for siblings is any different than for one child? Are the siblings families in a different group? I know it is quicker for families accepting "waiting" children, but we are waiting for approval to be refered siblings, and have never received "official" approval. We are also not the only family wanting siblings that have not received "official" approval. Just hoping maybe something is a little different for us. Thanks for anyone who has waited for sibling referals and knows if the wait time for approval is different.

My husband and I are approved for 2 siblings, 0 to 7 yrs old. We were in a bit different situation where we were with a previous agency and "supposedly" were approved October 2003. However, the Rep. wasn't the most trustworthy, we all found out later, so I don't know if we really were approved then. Anyway, we submitted the last of our documents (through our present agency), mid April 2004 and were approved May 25th 2004-- so it only took about 6 weeks.

I would definitely talk with your agency about this. The other people that you know that are still waiting for approval, are they with same agency as you??
