Question Kentucky Adoption Laws--Does anyone know what they are?

My wife and I took the Emmaus walk back in September. On that walk, God told us that our prayers for a child would be answered. This month, on the 7th to be exact, our answers were revealed to us. A birthmother is willing to allow us to adopt her child. She has felt that God wants her to give it to someone who desires it. She feels at peace with this decision. She contacted us and then we have gone from there. We have even seen the ultrasound pics and were there with the birthmother when she had this done. We know what sex the child is and saw the child moving, etc. We are so excited right now but also worried and scared.

We have yet to start the legal process. We are waiting on the Permanency and Protection lady to come back to work before we can begin. She won't be back until Feb. 1 or later.

Do any of you know what we need to do to get this process started?

The birthmother has not shown us any signs to date that she is going to change her mind. However, my biggest concern is getting all of this started. If we don't soon, she may change her mind. Please pray for us as we begin this journey. It is difficult seeing as we are in limbo right now until we know what our next step is.

Can you help us? Thanks.
