Well, it all made sense to me! And I really am so glad that you are hearing from God and obeying Him. Obviously, your path could have been a lot "easier" going another route.
If you aren't already familiar with the kinds of things that come from families (generational sin) and how to deal with them as parents, I'd love to recommend "Blessings and Curses" by Derek Prince. Just in the last year my eyes have been opened to the spiritual truths from the Bible about what we get from our ancestors. In a way the adopted kid gets a double whammy - 2 families. There are ways to spiritually protect our children beyond just praying for them. The item about the suicide in the family is what triggered this thought. Best to you, and thanks for posting your experiences! Jane |

My husband and I are faithful Christians who have been seeking God's will for our family. After lots of prayer, we decided that adopting an infant right now is the decision God wants us to go forward with. We pray that someday we are given opportunities to adopt older children. - But we feel that we need to go through all the stages of raising a child before we will be able to provide older children with the home and support that they need. We feel that we really need the chance to raise a child from birth so that we are better prepared later in life to adopt older children. Does this make sense?
