Christmas Programs

I am interested to know what type programs everyone is having this year!

Today our Church went caroling at a local Nursing Home and the surronding neighborhood. We handed out stuffed teddy bears to all the residents at the home and a goodie bag. It really warmed my heart to see the looks on the faces of those sweet elderly people. Some cried, some loved on their bears, other just started eating their fruit and candy. It was so humbling. The children of the church really enjoyed it. We even took Santa with us!!!! We then went back to the Church, had finger foods and exchanged gifts. It was really a fun day!

Sunday night the Children are doing a play about Jesus' birth. Then they will sing a few Christmas Carols. I'm really looking forward to it!

I hope you all have a very Blessed Christmas!!!

Sounds awesome, feeling!

Our boys school/church sang at a nursing home - how wonderful. In addition, each grade sponsored a family, and raised money to buy food, clothes and toys. This was really wonderful because people were so generous and we helped 10 needy families in addition to those sponsored through the church.

Our kids had a Christmas pagent (the first ones for my boys) and I cried!!! It was so touching.

We attend a very large Baptist Church and have several different programs during the season. My very favorite is the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. It's always a packed house with close to 2000 people and when the lights go out and all those candles are lit it's an amazing sight to behold, it gives me chills every year!

We have a ton of things going. Caroling to the shut ins was on the 16th.

The kids present the Christmas program on Christmas Eve. This year they are doing a mix of the nativity along with explaining the Christian traditions behind secular things like Christmas trees, St. Nick, etc.

At 11:00 we have the candlelight service, which I am helping with and at 10:15 on Christmas Day we have lessons & carols which I am leading.

We lost our pastors and our interim isn't starting until February, so those of us in Lay Academy classes are preparing and leading the services.
