Need agency rec'd for AA/Biracial adoption. We're in GA

Hi everyone,

We've already adopted 2 angels (ages 15 mo and 5 yrs:-) from Guatemala and feel led to adopt again. We would like to adopt an AA or biracial infant or toddler. We are middle aged, so I don't know how that will factor in. All suggestions will be appreciated.

Blessings,
Sandra

If you go to the Georgia DHR site, you'll find what you need to get started. If you go through the foster care system (or not), there really shouldn't be a problem with your age. AA and biracial children are considered harder to place, so the parent age restrictions are less than they would be normally. Many of the agencies in Georgia work with DFCS anyway, so you'd be better off to go that route as far as the cost goes. Somewhere on this site is a list of agencies in Georgia. Each one's site tells if they are contracted with DFCS. Also, you can search the foster care photolistings in other states and do an interstate adoption if you didn't find your child here in Georgia.

Sandra, I'm PM'g you

Sandra,
We are in SC and adopted an AA child from a ministry here that specializes in AA/Bi and hard to place kids. Since we can't specifically list them on this site, I'll send you the info in a PM. Best wishes to you. Adopting transracially is a TRUE blessing from the Lord. Check out the book of 1 John to be even more strengthened in what you and your family are about to embark upon.

In Him,
Lex
