Smile Other pastors who are adoptive parents?

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to introduce myself on this forum... I've been posting on the Guatemalan forum for a long time, but I'm trying to branch out.

I was wondering if there are other pastors who read this forum. My husband and I are both ministers and I'd love to hear from those of you who are in similar situations.

Thanks & I'll look forward to hearing from you!

Blessings,
Alex

Hello Alex! Dh and I are both pastors as well. We are currently not in church work but hope to return someday very soon. We consider this time our "little" sabbatical, resting up for the next big thing!

We have an amazing DD who just turned 2 and loving every minute of it! She came to us through an open adoption here in Alberta, Canada. We are also waiting for another child with our private agency and Children's Services, 9+months now. Hoping that we get the call soon!

Look forward to getting to know you... Blessings to you and your family...

Great to "meet" you! We live in Arizona and have two children from Guatemala. Our son is 3 and our daughter is 16 months. I feel that our family is complete -- but who knows what God has planned for us...

Hello, I thought I would pop in as well. My DH is a minister; we are at the very beginning stages of international adoption here in Ontario, Canada.
We are just getting started and can't imagine what kind of whirlwind we are in for!

Hi there. My husband is a pastor although not currently in the ministry. He is looking for a position and we are actually meeting with a pastor search commitee tomorrow and we covet your prayers. We live in NC and are hoping to bring our son home from Guatemala within the next couple of months. Just wanted to say "hi"

Hi everyone, we have just decided to adopt from China however I am only turning 29 on Tuesday so that means we have a year to wait before China says we are eligible to adopt from there. Good news budget wise, $20,000 is a lot of money to have to come up with right away!! I am really nervous about the finances but we know that God will take care of us.. he always has!
It is a very exciting feeling to know that we are actualy starting this train, we've been sitting on it for 3 years now waiting for the "right" time, after DH's schooling, after he gets a job, later later later. I guess now is actually later

My husband is an ordained minister but doesn't pastor a church.

Leslie, where in NC are you? We are in Scotland County.

How cool to know there are so many adopted children that are also "PK"s!

Anyone else want to respond to this thread?

Nice to meet so many others in the ministry.

Blessings,
Alex

Good luck and God bless! What an exciting journey you are on... just think how special it will be when you finally meet your child, knowing how you've longed and prayed for her over the years. We will be praying that your year of waiting in a fruitful one.

Dh and I are not pastors yet, but DH was a PK. After years of pushing away the calling, I think DH is finally ready to look at ministry! Just talking to Roon the other night saying I thought he'd make a great pastor, but didn't think he felt called to really pursue it. I mentioned it to him and he said that it had actually been on his mind a lot and so now we've been praying about choosing this new path! He could go to seminary in Puerto Rico (where he is from) for free (his dad went there and very actively involved), so we'd have to wait till our adoption (if these kids are the ones we are meant to adopt) is final here. Just be praying that God continues to lay this burden on DH's heart! I really feel this is the path for us, but he's still dealing with insecurities!

My dh is a pastor, and we are currently waiting on referral of our daughter from China. It is neat to see this thread--I'm usually just on the China forum, and I haven't checked in here in awhile.
