Question embryo adoption

hello. dh and i are actively pursuing adoption to enlarge our miracle family. we have endured infertility for our entire 20 year marriage. i am the survivor; of 7 IVF's that resulted in 2 successful pregnancies and 3 wonderful miracles in our home. my oldest will be 9 in march and she came on our 4th (and what i deemed final) attempt to have a child in 1996. my b/g twins just turned 4 in November and they came on our 7th IVF in 2001.

while neither of us feel our famiy is complete, i am quite sure that another ivf is not for me. we have researched information on embryo adoptions from nightlight christian adoptions in fullerton, ca. we are very interested in this because of many reasons:
1. i am extremely familiar with transfer procedures and have even done a frozen embryo cycle on my own in the past.
2. we would have the benefit of being matched up with the genetic family and be able to get all the family information/ contact we desire.
3. it gives me the opportunity to carry and nurse another baby (or babies should another set of twins be in my future!)
4. i feel this will help with the initial bonding and tearing (primal woundings i've read about) by being the birth mother to my adopted miracle.

i am needing to know if anyone else has had experience in this fairly new arena of adoption? as the child of an adoptee, i have practical experience on how difficult adoptions can be for everyone involved. dh and i are in the middle of our homestudy/ research and lots of prayers. please let me know if any of you has any information we should consider.

regards,
dawn

Have you checked out a website called Stepping stones? They have a section devoted to embryo adoption and some very knowledgable ladies who are going through this procedure now.
http://stepforums.bethany.org/

It is a wealth of information and they are very sweet and will answer all your questions.

Dawn,
We personally have experience with embryo adoption, on the receiving end. We have feelings on both sides of embryo adoption, using a clinic vs. an adoption agency. Feel free to email me if you would like.

There is a great, new book out there called Mommies, Daddies, Donors, Surrogates : Answering Tough Questions and Building Strong Families (Paperback)
by Diane Ehrensaft

I highly recommend it for anyone considering parenting through Assisted Reproduction
