I have been so blessed to read your stories!! It seems that God has really given us all a gift to want to adopt - the gift to love the children God has or will place in our lives to adopt as much as we love our biological children (if we have biological children).

I have read many of your stories where God has planted in your hearts the desire to adopt even before you had your own. Some others, God planted the desire before they found out they couldn't have children. Others, the desire was planted after they found out they couldn't have children...God is so Good!! He gave us that desire!!!

I do have my own child, 2 years old, and love him dearly. What interesting is that God planted in my heart to adopt a child since I was a child. I never knew anyone who was adopted until I was in college. What's more strange is I didn't have as strong of a desire to have my own child as I did to adopt. I am thankful to God that I have my own child but I am also thankful that he gave me this desire and love. These kids need us - need God. God has plans for them!!!

Anyway, God does not grant everyone this desire. Some other people just don't think adoption is possible so they don't pursue it. I have many friends that express they are worried about even having another biological child because they can't imagine loving that child as much as their first child... they are afraid they will have favoritism.
I don't understand that but don't judge them for having those feelings. I just believe that I don't have those feelings because God has planted in my heart a gift of love for another child that is not mine biologically. Again, I believe he doesn't give this desire to everyone. I have also talked with several of my friends who had no idea that there is financial assistance if you adopt an older child because most of them are considered special needs. The assistance would make it possible for them to adopt an older child. Some of these individuals are now considering adoption.

I believe the seed has been planted. Perhaps now God will place in their heart the desire and unconditional love of another child that is not their own.

Please spread the word about adoption if you haven't already!!!

It's amazing when people hear about the subsidy portion, they become more interested. These people are not "money hungry" people, but really passionate, loving individuals who just couldn't afford to bring in a child unless they have some of that help. In other words, they are middle class citizens like myself.

Other people just need to hear that if God has planted in their heart to adopt from another country or an infant from here, money will come because God did not grant that desire for no reason! Yes, there is no subsidy but God will take care of the financial peace. Faith in these circumstances is sometimes hard, but I am sure there are enough testimonies from people on this forum to show that it's not impossible. God will provide the money because he loves ALL his children, young and older.
