stalled in adoption process

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. Yesterday I made a boo boo and accidently posted a "reply" to an existing thread when I meant to start a new one. Also, I accidently clicked on my written message a few minutes ago, so hope I am not posting twice. Please have patience with me--I'll get this sooner or later.
I have read some of your posts and my heart and prayers go out to you all. My husband and I have a 7 year old Chinese daughter who we adopted as a baby. We are in the process of trying to adopt a 3 to 6 year old girl internationally, but a number of families are having serious problems with the agency we are all using. So, we are "stuck in idle" and our homestudy runs out in January and we will not do another one due to our ages. I wonder if they are going to just let it run out, and then they will have our money. I call them everyday.
Add to this--our daughter has a friend who is Asian like herself, but has been in 4 different living situations since birth. She is not up for adoption, but my heart goes out to her and I have tried to make our home open to her on weekends. I am attached to her, and wish I could do something to really help her such as adopt her. But, unless God does a specific miracle I will have to just help her as best as I can on weekends when she comes to our farm. As always I can only ask for God to do what is His perfect will, and not what I personally want.--Countrycat

You are wise in waiting on His perfect will--even when the waiting part can be difficult, we know things work out for His best. Is there an age cap on adopting the age range you are seeking? I don't understand the world of private adoption as we adopted through our state but I would hope there is something that can be done before your homestudy expires. I will keep you in prayer.

Blessings.

reply re: stuck in idle in adoption process

Dear Everyone (especially mj77's question);
Actually, I should clarify: we are having problems with an international adoption agency rather than a private agency. 4 other families have pulled out and are in litigation with them. I am in my late 40's and my husband is in his 60's so once our homestudy runs out in late January--we will not be doing another one.
The little girl who my heart goes out to is a friend of my daughter's--but is not available for adoption at this time. God can change that of course, but that's the way it is at the present.
