Thinking about adopting
My wife and I are thinking about adopting a baby boy we heard about from a friend. Although we are both in our 30's we still feel there is time to have a biological child too. THe thing is, this baby needs a home now.
After reading stories in different posts here, I am a bit worried about how people will react. Of course I played the brave man and told my wife not to worry but I know she is worried too. I told one of my sisters and she almost cried she is so happy for us. I was kinda hoping to have more positive results like hers. Please tell me some happy stories ![]() God bless. |

Sometimes I get worried when I read some of the posts on the board, but I'll have to tell you my husband is adopted and quite a happy man. I am adopted by my father (married my mother when I was 3) and I am well adjusted too. This gives me faith in adoption. I know by reading some of the posts that not everyone is so lucky. For us, we always knew we were adopted, no one ever tried to hide that, it is a natural way to build a family.
Good luck -

Adopting my son has been the most wonderful experience I have ever had in my life.
If you are worried about how people are going to react...don't be. Yes, you will have some ignorant people making some ignorant comments, but you have to learn how to handle people like that. (and believe me, you will learn!!) Your sister sounds like a wonderful person. You might be surprised at how supportive your friends and family will be. As for the others who aren't so supportive.........it will be their loss. Good Luck and God Bless YOU!!! Kathi ![]() |

Any time a needy child gets parents, it is a happy day. Who cares what people say when angels are rejoicing? God will bless you too if you are the ones.

My brother is adopted and I didn't even know it until I was probably 10. Didn't bother me or anyone one bit. My daughter is adopted and I didn't know I could love anything or anyone so much. Everyone loves her. She's the light of our life. Our family is a family now. She's so spoiled rotten. You would think she's a "STAR" when she walks in a room. She's won over everyone's heart!!!! She's just so awesome. The most awesome gift the Lord could give! I can't even TELL you! I can't even IMAGINE my life without her before. I don't know what I would do without her. She's such a awesome dream come true!!!!!
