Update on our story, from prayer for guidance!

Hi everyone who helped me a few days ago, and anyone else who is interested.
We have continued persuing the little girl we are applying to adopt. On Wednesday our social worker caled to say the baby's social worker ahd rung for exchange of Form F, (our homsestudy) and form E (The form about the baby's situation and needs etc.)

Then on Friday afternoon the Baby's Social worker called to say they want to come and visit us on Thursday 4th November...it seems a long way off and aptience has never been my strong point in these things, but never the less we are excited. We are finding it hard this time round as we do not want to get too hyped up just in case we get hurt again, but it is impossible to go into this without committing yourself. We love her already without meeting her and are desperate to meet her and bring her home.
Please continue to pray for us that if this is God's will it will come to fruition quickly without hangups. Please pray that David and I will be together in our decisions and that Social workers on both sides will be supportive and helpful. Mostly please pray for all the children, Joshua and Christina were very involved with Isabelles plans and were desperatly sad when she died. They are now asking why we are not talking about the new baby like we did about Isabelle. It is hard. Things are a bit strained here becasue we are all trying to protect each other from more hurt.
Thank you for your prayer support and love. It is wonderful to be able to reach out to other Christians in similar situations who can understand the whole issue of adoption.
Our next worry after this all works out is David's family. They do not understnad our adoption hearts at all. They will be devastated to know we have done it again with another disabled child. They cannot understand why we keep putting ourselves through this.
Please pray for them too.
Much love

It is nearly a year since I last posted!

Wow what a difference a year makes!

A rollercoaster ride of emotions and thoughts and incidents! We eventually were accepted as prospective parents for a little girl with cerebal palsy. We found her in the adoption UK book and were matched with her in March, She came home with us in April and is flourishing. Eve has been accepted and has bonded with all oour children. They love her to bits and often argue over whose turn it is to cuddle, feed or bath her.

We had some trouble with the SS in the run up to the adoption hearing, then they accepted our requests for inclusion in the adoption support package. They also agreed to fund the equipment she needs, Wheelchair, Standing frame, and sleep system. The wheelchair was agreed very quickly and arrived the week before the adoption but then a week after the adoption we returned from a respite break at the children's hospice to a letter saying it was a mistake and funding had not yet been agreed on the two other items. These are not luxuries, they are essential for Eve's well being, we had refused to go to court until we were satisfied they were going to give ongoing support, until we were satisfide we were not puttin her at a disadvantage by adopting her, the news that the items were ordered, and that support was going to be there to continue to enable the onging contact between Eve and her birth family, and that the SS would advocate for Eve to ensure her ongoing needs were met, assured us we were doing the right thing by making her legally our daughter!
So we are now devastated to discover that they have already shown that the written word means nothing!

We love Eve dearly, have no regrets over taking her home, but she has far greater disabilities than we first thought, has a far greater level of need, loads more health isssues and will have ongoing needs that we need to be sure are going to be met!

I am trying to work out how to put a photo for you to see. The whole family had a picture taken with the judge, it is in photobucket and I will try and put a link.
hugs
