scared and confused

I am a foster parent and a adoptive parent. We adopted our now almost 6 year old APRIL OF 2003, and then we got out of foster parenting since we had a family with our new daughter. Three months later we started the paper work to get back into it and have been relicense since last november 2003. Suprisingly we never got a call until mid march 2004 and then it was for a boy 17 1/2 months old. perfect age for what we were looking for. now we are nearing the end and still don't know which way its going to go and the case manager is a new to this case since july 1st and she treats us like we are the enemy. I guess I am just asking for anyone that reads this to just pray for our family and for the baby boy we are caring for. We have definetly grown very attached to him as we have just celebrated his second birthday. Just pray to GOD that he will do what is best for the baby and place him in the correct home that he diserves and to make us stronger people as my husband is really taking it hard. thankyou

You have my prayers. I understand right where you are. It sounds like God really wanted this little guy there for a purpose .

Blessings,
Melissa

Hi VMitchell,

I am responding to your message. I am a foster parent and have been for almost 10 years and I have been blessed to have been the foster mother to about 40 children, mostly under the age of 8. Many babies. It is SO easy to become attached. We become foster parents TO help these children, hoping they can get with their bio families,,,IF all works out right. In some cases the children need LONG term foster families or are put up for adoption. I found the best way for myself to deal with the children being placed in other homes, regardless if with Bio family or with special needs foster care, etc....the best thing to think of, is; prepare yourself, believe you are a care giver for HOWEVER long that special child NEEDS you...whether it is only a few hours or many years. Also remember that no matter what you have made a friend for life with that child.
I pray that this beautiful baby you have in your care, will be taken care of and will be lucky enough to be placed in the best possible home, if its with the parents, or family, or if it is with you...I hope things will turn out fine for him. In the mean time, bless your dear hearts, there is need of people like us.
