I am looking for some insight. We are a Christian family seeking to adopt a hispanic child. We arent position to adopt internationally. Is it even realistic for us to think that we will be able to adopt a hispanic child domestically? We have been homestudied and approve through a local christian organization. All we see are older children and large sibling groups. I imagine culture has to do with the limited number of hispanic kids available in state system. Grandma, aunts , uncles usually take on the burden of raising children when need be.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Your prayers are appreciated ![]() |

here is my story
I adopted 4 hispanic siblings last year and their mom had another baby in August and of course I adopted her too. It is true that there are a lot of hispanic children in large sibling groups but there are some single too. In Texas we have a lot of hispanic and I suppose in California too. Check with them. Best of luck!

We have adopted 3 Hispanic/Caucasian children, one at a time. We are a Hispanic/Caucasian couple. Are you Hispanic? There are a lot of hispanic children in California also, mostly in large sibling groups. Best Wishes.

hispanic children
I live in the Northeast and there are also a lot of hispanic children here also. First priority goes to hispanic couples. I think it depends on the size of the population of hispanic people in your state.

Thanks for the feedback. I wonder if it possible to adopt from other states. Do you know where I could begin to find out.

adopting from other states
Yes, it is possible, but check with your agency, they may have guidelines or restrictions, now that you have signed with them. There are other people who have done inter-state adoption, and hopefully they give you some advice.
