Sibling Group adoption
Hello!
I was just wondering how many of you have adopted siblings? We are looking for a little wisdom and support. It has been hard to find information on sibling adoption on-line. I think the people who have adopted siblings are far too busy to put info on the web! We have felt led to adopt siblings...and are considering a group of 4. Just curious what wisdom you can pass along. Thank you, Pk |

We adopted bio sisters ages 3 and 6 from Delhi, India in March 2003. We are forever grateful we followed the prodding we felt to adopt siblings. It's hard, yes, but everything worth doing is, in our opinion, and with God's help, all things are possible.
That said, we did choose 2 over 3 in the end. Somehow going from 0 kids to 3 just seemed a little too overwhelming. But everyone is different, and if you feel led to adopt 4, go for it, I say! Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more about this. |

We've adopted two sibling groups of two, placed with us within the same month. I never really knew them without each other, so for us, it's worked out well. We had the experience of raising two bio kids, and had fostered 11 other kids before these four were placed with us, including one sibling group of 4. I love having a large family!

sib. group
Hi! We are in the process of adopting 3 little boys! We are hoping to finalize in the next 2 months. So far things have gone quite well for us!! In fact the kids have already started the nag for another sib. group!! At this time we feel 10 children is enough!! But one never knows the plan God has for us! We have been blessed 10 times through adoption and we know that it is because He has always been in control!! We wish you well as you step into adopting a sib. group! Up until these 3 little guys we had never stepped into this type of adoption. Our other 7 came as singles and all but 1 as newborns. We have been very blessed!! Just trust the plan God has for you and it will go well!! Best wishes!

Sibling group
Hello all,
We too are in the process of adopting a sibling groupf of four girls. We have two children, my DHs from his prev. marriage. They live with us and I'm Mom, as ** does little in their lives. We are excited and at the same time scared to death. Our SW says this is a good place to be, we meet with the Girls SW in Weds. We are hoping for a placement in May. We are excited to grow from 4 to eight in a small home. Love grows best in small houses! Read read read as much as you can and yes talk to as many adoptive parents as you can. I wish you the best of blessings hope and endurance as you can handle. May God bless you greatly. Many Blessings and prayers

I can not express how happy I am that my husband and I sought out hard to place (HAH) children, otherwise classified as older (teens) sibling groups. We have been blessed with the most incredible experiences with these boys.
We were so happy that when we got a call the week of Christmas about another sibling group (younger this time) we jumped on it. Then 2mo. later the 2.5mo old came with us also. We now have in the home 6 children ( I have a 25yr old bio outside of home) that we love beyond measure. They all call each other brother and sister, yet they hold tightly to the bio bond. We have others come and go yet they visit or call weekly especially to see how all the children are doing. shell another mom to Isaiah (4mo.), Irie (3yrs), Jose (5yrs), Jon (13yrs), Roger (15) Ruben (16) Arielle (17) Michelle (17+baby) and Jen 25 (bio) |

tGbtg,
No, we have not met them yet, as a matter of fact, they do not even know we are trying for them. Just went to orientation tuesday, next step is training third weekend of this month, 15 hours. After that, starts our home study. They are a beautiful bunch of children, can't imagine why they are up for adoption, just hoping to be able to make them part of OUR family.....SOON!!!! |
