Hi Everyone,
Okay God has been really drilling the following scripture into me: Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:14 As I mentioned before God led me to this scripture when I wanted to encourage someone else here, then it ended up being our Sunday School scripture memory verse for our lesson on patience. Then today I was looking at 2004 calanders and I spotted one with darling pictures of children. I opened it to get a better look and found that it also had a scripture for each month. So you guessed it January had the above verse! So I'm making this my favorite scripture while I go through this waiting process. I'm going to crosstitch it, frame it and hang it in the nursery. So I thought everyone could share their favorite verse with the rest of us for uplifting and encouragement. What's your favorite verse? ![]() Judy Last edited by amom4life : 10-28-2003 at 10:12 PM. |

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
(Going by memory here, so if the wording isn't exact...my apologies.) This has been my life verse since I recommitted my life to Lord at the age of 19. I really cling to it, especially in times of difficulty and stress. |

Thanks! I needed that! I've been going through a rough time and your words have helped.
My favorite verse is: "Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lead not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths." |

My fave has always been Romans 8:28 - "All things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose" - (yes, Happytwinsmom - I am like you - just going from memory, so hope this is right)
What nice verses everyone! Thanks for sharing! |

Thank you all, these are wonderful verses. I often have to remind myself that it is all in His hands and then I feel a sense of comfort when I think about that.

My favorite
There are so many I like I couldn't chose one. As I read my Bible I am always finding new verses that encourage and strengthen me. Here are two that I like...
Jesus said, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matt 19:26 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:4,5 |

This thread is a blessing!
One of my favorite scriptures that I found comforting during the darkest times of our adoption journey was... Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. And another was... Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust... |

This morning on my way to work I was listening to one of favorite songs, based on the Prayer of Jabez. Then it hit me that I have been repeating the prayer (1 Chronicles 4:10) throughout my day.
I think we all are asking God to enlarge our territories…"our families and to bless us with a child." That is my prayer for each of you and myself that God will bless us and enlarge our territory. Here is the prayer… "Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request." The Bible doesn’t say how long it was before Jabeez’s prayer was answer but that his prayer was answered. Even though we may get discouraged, let’s not give up…because God will answer our prayers…He’s promised. Thank you Judy for starting this thread. Lori |

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
Ephesians 1: 3-10 |

I love these verses! It was only recently that I realized that sometimes "waiting upon the Lord" means to serve Him, but sometimes it means to just WAIT.
My current favorite is Romans 5:3-5 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. |
