hoping for reunion!
I was adopted by my grandparents and never got the opportunity to meet my birth father. I learned at age 10 what his name was and got a picture of him. Recently I was able to talk to my birth mother about him and decided to try to contact him. He received the letter yesterday (I know because it was certified) and I am hoping that sometime soon he will feel ready to respond. I would like to ask for prayers for this situation! I pray that his heart would be open to meeting me. Thanks!

Hi Amy, An Exciting time for you!
Hi Amy! Thanks for posting. Interesting that you were adopted by your relatives- not common for many of us- so you were knowlegable of who your birth mom was. I hope you have some open doors to communicate with your birth father. Keep us posted and may God bless you!! Jody

Hi Amy! How exciting for You! Prayers here
Hi Amy! Thanks so much for posting about your sharing with your birth mom and letter to your birth father. It is an exciting time for you and might be a difficult waiting time to see if your birth father will respond. Depending on where He is at relationally and emotionally in his life will play a big part in his response. Also circumstances on who He has told or not told about the adoption may impact his readiness for contact with you. I am a reunited adoptee for over 10 years with my birth sisters. My birth parents had both died before I found them. So I understand how you are feeling in this inbetween time. Thanks for sharing. A prayer for you.
Lord we ask that you be with Amy during this waiting time. You are the God of all comfort and our Prince of Peace. Give Amy the assurance that you are Sovereign and in control of all things. May she lay this relationship at your feet and surrender her desires and plans to your will for her life. Give her a glimpse of your plans for her regarding her continued adoption journey and possible contact/reunion with her birth father. Embrace her this day and remind her that you are her precious heavenly Father who has always been with her and will be with her forever. In Jesus name Amen Jody adoption@wideopenwest.com www.adoptionblessingsnewsletter.com
