Adoptees,Growing up did you identify with famous/literal adoptees?
Hi! When I was growing up as an adoptee I find it amazing that I did not recall identifying with any adoptees that were famous or adoptees in literature. For some reason, my radar did not connect our common adoptee status. And there are lots of adoptees/orphans in classic literature! An adoptee from my local group said he always idolized Superman since he was an adoptee and also Moses in the bible.
I did have a best friend in high school & we found out we were both adopted- Oh, what joy- a real bond- we are still friends to this day online! If you are an adoptee, did you connect with any well known adoptees and see a kinship with them- being adopted? Please share! Or, if you are an adoptive parent/birth parent or relative of an adoptee any observations on the adoptee in this regard?
