I love the scripture quoted by adoptee Moses as he blessed the children of Israel before his death. Deuteronomy 33:27 "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Moses could look back on his life and adoption journey and see that God carried him from the womb and safely delivered him in the ark to the arms of his adoptive mother, to his reunion as an adult with his birth siblings Aaron and Miriam and scripture says in Deuteronomy 34 God buried Moses and only God knows the place. God's presence went with Moses and protected him, delivered him, provided for him, and was his tender shepherd all the days of his life. It is such a nurturing picture of our heavenly Father, the everlasting arms that carry us all the days of our life and to eternity.

I read your post the other day and had to think before replying. My first thought was what I have to say is still my thought.

From the Bible, it would be the parable of the prodigal son. While not specifically about adoption, it was the son's father welcoming him back home after his absence that I always dreamed about. I pictured it as my bmom letting go and then having open arms at my return all those years later. I am lucky, I have found both my bmom and bdad and have relationships with both.

The Serenity Prayer has been one that I say almost every day and has kind of become my motto.

God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the Courage to change the things I can,
and the Wisdom to know the difference.

As a fairy tale, any story about Cinderella or anything related to it I love. Always have and will probably always will.

Yes, many adoptees would love to be welcomed with open arms by their birth parents. How wonderful to have met both your birth parents and to be in reunion with them.
