Any mom's with large families out there?
I was just wondering if there are any other mom's who homeschool AND have large families.
I would love to hear how you organize, schedule, clean and cook for your family. And what you do to save money.

I homeschool, but with 3 kids at home, not considered large, really...
That being said, we've lived on a very tight budget forever, so I'm an old hand at trimming costs. First, I make as much as I can from scratch. (Or I did until an injury made my rt shoulder through finger tips pretty unuseable). This includes bread. hillbillyhousewife.com is an excellent site. Ebay is a wonderful place for clothes, etc. Consignment stores too. Library for movies, rather than rent. Its not available here in Canada, but friends in the States swear by the grocery game too. |

I love hillbilly housewife. I have it on my website in the homemaking section. I rarely ever do Ebay for clothes, because I never find what I'm looking for at a decent price. I love the Library for movies also! They have an incredible selection.

Hello!
We are a large homeschooling family. We have 15 children, 10 stilll at home. Their ages are 4-28. I use alot of coupons when I shop. We shop at Sam's club usually once a month. I make alot of food from scratch. And we shop the clearence racks. We also make good use of the library and use net flix for movies. As for schooling, we do alot of work together, Science, History, Bible study, Art. Then Reading, Math, one on one. Let me know if you have other questions. Jenny Goff |

Care to share recipes?

For the younger kids, we do some subjects together. Like my 3rd and 4th grader we do English together and Science. Math is seperate though. I do history with my 12 year old, 8 year old and 9 year old. My 15 year old does most subjects on his own. My 5 year old is a foster child, so he's in public school. That leaves the 3 year old and 1 year old. I just give the 3 year old some alphabet coloring sheets when she wants to "do school" or occassionally I do something else, like the construction paper bear for the letter "B", made of circles. I let her make letters with playdough also. So what are your favorite big family recipes?
